Eclectic Method
At the Open Video Conference at NYU Law school in NYC June 19, '09 Ian Edgar and Jonny Wilson demonstrate their Eclectic Method
“well basically we piss about with video and some people like it”
I don't see any inspiration here at all and will anyone be inspired to learn to play music when they can just remix another persons creative work?

You really missed the mark. It could be said that all creative acts are forms of remixing. As Goethe said, "Our country, our customs, our ambitions, and our notions of fit and fair - all these we never made, we found them ready made; we but quote them." Nothing can be truly 'original.' Did Pound lack 'inspiration' when he quoted Homer? No.
Your qualms seem to be the result of latent conservatism. Get with the times man.

I worked in Radio eight years as a DJ and saw many of the bands and met the artistes you idolize and remix today.
I listen to music all day long, every day.
